Washington, D.C., July 21, 2000 — United States Mint Director Jay W. Johnson today is pleased to announce that Susan Valaskovic has joined the U.S. Mint as the new Public Affairs Office Director.
Susan Valaskovic comes to the U.S. Mint from Vice President Gore’s National Partnership for Reinventing Government (NPR). As Deputy Director at NPR, Susan worked closely with federal agencies to foster reinvention initiatives.
Previously, Susan was a Program Manager for the Social Security Administration, a newspaper columnist, and ran her own company specializing in time management and personal productivity systems. She received a Bachelors of Art (Phi Beta Kappa) from Drake University and a Masters from the University of Santa Monica.
Valaskovic replaces the previous Public Affairs Director, Lynn Parrish, who returned to the private sector on June 23.
